EU Academy is an efficient low cost and highly professional way of teaching EU Law to the best of next generation Ukrainian Lawyers.
This training is extremely needed as was trusted to us by The VP and Minister of Justice of Ukraine and the Ambassador of Ukraine to the EU in Brussels. Weather Ukraine will become Member-State or will have close relation to the EU.
Efficient: we teach mainly online EU Law and Acquis Communautaire to a selection of the best Ukrainian Law Students. Unlike other programs, the students do not have to come and house in a university city in the West, the training course will be embedded in their current Universities in Kyiv.
Highly professional: A selection of the finest professors from Universities in the EU will provide the training. It is online and thus flexible. We have unique and selective access to this professional pool via our ELSA network. Our team of professors are from Vienna, Madrid, Krakov, Bruges and The Hague.
Funding is a challenge. We have as sponsors KAS (Konrad Adenauer Foundation), 2 Ministries of Foreign affairs, and a few private funders. No EU funding so far. To start the first round in February we still need more funding.
About Wiel Hoefnagels
Lawyer with a background in ELSA. Has worked in European Institutions, Banks and Law firms. Has now dedicated his retirement life to Defending Democracy (against uprising Autocracies) via a program of Democratic Renaissance. This lead to three main activities, at three levels in society:
-Adolescence: is teacher of Democracy and Citizenship at a local High School.
-Students: is establishing an Academy for EU Law and Acquis Communautaire in Kyiv.
